Description
Practical Process Research and Development, Third Edition provides a concise, comprehensive, step-by-step framework to support understanding and implement organic process research and development in the pharmaceutical, fine chemical, and agricultural chemical industries.The book has been heavily updated for its third edition, whilst retaining the basic spirit and structure of the first two editions. Half of the cited references were published after the second edition. It describes steps to prepare active compounds in a cost-effective manner. The chapters on safety and workup have been expanded. Continuous flow operations are discussed in a chapter and highlighted throughout the book. It also provides hands-on, step-by-step, approaches to solving process development problems, including route, reagent, and solvent selection, optimising catalytic reactions, chiral syntheses, troubleshooting, and green chemistry.
Practical Process Research and Development, Third Edition is written primarily for organic chemists as well as chemical engineers.
